FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOSEY.. Q&A PART 1

A few weeks ago I did a post wanting my readers to ask questions. I got emails, texts, tweets, and Facebook messages containing questions. I finally got most of them together and answered. I saved a few for posts of their own, so if you don't see yours it's because it was super special and deserves a full post. Thank you for all the questions!! If you have more please let me know.

Q) What were your favorite and least favorite of being pregnant?

A) Favorite: feeling her move around and kick me. Least favorite: I didn't get to experience a normal pregnancy and carry her closer to full term.

Q) What's a romantic night on the ranch like now versus before Teale?

A) What is romantic?! Kidding. As romantic as its got lately is D poured me a glass of wine and told me to take a bath, then gave me like a 30 minute massage, which is rare for him. Other nights we will sit on the couch after she's in bed, watch a movie, and eat ice cream out of little bowls.

On Saturday night we made a few chocolate covered strawberries after Teale went to bed and we laid on the couch and watched a movie. *for the record, mine are the nicer looking ones. Having Mr. H help was like having a toddler in the kitchen. He burnt his finger and oh did he whine, then he couldn't get the strawberries to roll right so they were all blotchy. Oh it was a lot of fun!

Q) If you had one thing to say to a FTM who is told she is having a emergency C-Section as early as you what advice would you give if only 1 thing?

A) 1. trust in the Lord

2. try not to freak out and get caught up on the fact that your birth process didn't go as planned

3. Oh and don't text your fellow classmates who are about to take their last final exam! (yes, I did. No, I didn't know they were fixing to take their exam) Lots of them showed up at the hospital after class. Sorry, I was scared!

Q) Do you plan to have another baby via pregnancy or adoption?

A) We will probably never have another child either way. Way too scared to go through another pregnancy with the risk of another preemie, loss of pregnancy, and possibly lose my life and we don't think adoption is for us.

Q) You are crafty person, have you thought about opening a store?

A) I actually have an Etsy shop for my necklaces, baby bedding, and other things I make, but haven't had time to really get into it. My goal is to have it all ready by November. we'll see!

Q) Do you want more children? In your perfect world, how many children and of what genders would you like to have 10 years from now

A) A little over a year ago we were sitting in our kitchen talking about getting married and that we didn't want children. 2 weeks later, 2 pink lines came. Awhile ago I wanted 2-3 children and wanted a mix of boys and girls. We love baby T and she is such a blessing, we wouldn't trade her for anything!

Q) 5 years ago where were you and where did you think you'd be in 5 years from then?

A) 5 years ago was what 2008? I was in college, I was a store manager at Rue 21 clothing company, and lived in my loft apartment in Ft Worth. I drove a white Mini Cooper. I went to the bar a lot. I wanted to be a Nurse by then and was going to live at the beach after I graduated. Then I met the first cowboy I dated and life changed a lot for me. was dating my first cowboy, SO glad that didn't work out but he taught me a lot about myself and what I definitely didn't want in a partner. It went from bars to rodeos and ropins. I wasn't really focused on my future for a little while. I kind of just took classes, traveled a lot like Vegas, Reno, Florida, lots of trips to the Texas coast just because I wanted to and I could. In 2010 is when I decided to go to nursing school and then met D and life just kind of fell into place.

I posted this on Instagram this past weekend. My life is baby bottles, sweet tea in mason jars, and baby monitors now days.

Q) Do you currently have a big dream or goal?

A) Go back to school (fixing to start!) and get my bachelors and become wound care certified. Oh and in the next 6-8 years we'd like to save up enough to buy a piece of land (like 50-100 acres) and maybe have a house built or find one with an older house and remodel it.

Q) Who or what inspires you?

A) My Daughter. She's been through a lot and still smiles and goes on daily. She's a strong little girl. It's a honor to be her Mama. Before she came along my Granny & Papa were and still are a huge inspiration to me.

Q) When did you decide to become a Nurse or what made you decide to be a Nurse?

A) I decided in 2006 when I became a CNA (certified Nurse Assistant) that I wanted to be a Nurse, but didn't start nursing school until 2010.

Q) What your plans are for the next year?

A) Hang out with baby girl, pay my car off and buy a new one, start working, go back to school, and go on a honeymoon.

Q) Your fav moments since you've all been FINALLY living under one roof.

A) The first night Mr. H gave baby girl a bath. He hadnt given her a bath since she started enjoying them, like the last time he bathed her was in July and she hated baths so she screamed the whole time. They played and splashed for awhile, both of their faces were lit up, it was perfect.

Q) If you have her on a schdule, is it easy to stick to, does she fight you on some things?

A) We don't do schedules. From the beginning it was hard to do a schedule. Some Moms swear by them and spend hours researching and trying to enforce but we do our own method called "whatever Teale wants" and that works for us. She goes to sleep by 9pm, sleeps until 4am at least, has a bottle and diaper change, then comes to bed with us, we get up around 8am. (her and I. Daddy leaves at 630) When she's hungry, she lets us know and we feed her.

Some people don't think thats good and spend hours obsessing over how to get their kids to sleep 8 hours a night but I see it as she's only little once and I love all the time I can spend with her. Maybe it's a preemie Momma thing because I love not asking permission to hold, feed, change my baby's diapers and take joy in the little things like not keeping a schedule. Plus at this point I'm kind of used to nothing going as planned with her so to have a schedule is WEIRD!

Q) Do yall get to go help D at work?

A) We don't go with him much during the day. In the mornings he's horseback so we obviously can't go. After lunch he sometimes will take us to feed cattle or check a windmill, but almost every afternoon at 5 we all walk down to the barn and watch while Mr. H feeds the horses. Sometimes baby girl pets them or even rides them with Daddy, we just started that last week.

This is one day last week that we rode around with him while he fed cattle.
Q) Crafts or projects you're working on now that you're outta school?

A) Finally making Teale's "nursery" since I didn't get to while I was pregnant and then our old house only had 1 room. Painting walls, flower pom poms, painting furniture, making bedding for the daybed/couch, and lots of Pinterest projects.

Q) Any plans for a vacation any time soon?

A) Probably not for at least another 2 years as a family, but Mr. H and I are hoping to get a honeymoon in the spring next year. Oh and we're thinking about going to the NFR in Vegas in December 2013 with his parents, they go every year.

Q) What changes has Teale made in just this past month? (Since they grow SO fast!)

A) She's 6 months old! Lately she is sitting up with very little assistance, found her feet, cutting teeth (1), enjoying bath time, smiling, gained a lot of weight, wearing 0-3 months clothing, eating baby food at night some nights, and sleeping in her own room in her new crib her Nana and Grumpa bought for her. You can read her 5 month update here.

Q) What are your 1yr bday party ideas?

A) I have already started planning her birthday party, I know, crazy! But it's so special because at one time I was told they weren't sure if she was going to make it. I am not sharing details on here yet because I want it to be a surprise. You'll have to wait until close to March to see.
*If you know PLEASE don't spill the beans in a comment.*
