You might have noticed I have watermarked all my photos this week, here is why..
Last week I had some issues with someone searching hateful things on my blog about Teale and I. On top of that I learned that a online support group I was in had one person who was sharing photos of our babies, the women in the group, and the things we talked about with others outside the group on her personal facebook. Another member was found to be a fake, she didn't have a baby and admitted she had issues from a previous loss of a baby. I have blocked her from most social media webstites and made accounts private, but nowdays people can find ways around that. On top of all that I found this article, this article, and this article.
After seeing that I googled a few phrases that I knew would lead back to my family blog and found one certain referring url from a website that visits my blog frequently. I didn't see anything on the first page of the website, but there were 60 pages so I started clicking to see what link was on that website that was directly linked to mine and on page 14 there is a picture of Teale in the NICU, a picture I had posted on here back in April. I do not know what the text around it says because it is a language that I don't understand. I have contacted the website and asked for the picture to be removed.
I know I am sharing our life and there are risks, but people shouldn't take advantage of that. This blog, my facebook account, YouTube account, and other social media websites are to share mainly with our families who we are 4 hours away from, but also to educate, share with, or help others who are going through the same things or living the same lifestyle.
Effective August 26, 2012 all pictures of Teale, our family, our home, or any pictures I personally take are property of me and will be watermarked. If I find these images on the internet anywhere either shared without my permission or claimed to be your own I will take action to have them removed. Please do not pin pictures from my blogs, either my family blog or this blog onto Pinterest without my permission.
Watermaking: I hate to cover parts of Teale's body or plaster text across her forehead, but last night I was practicing and I put the text towards the bottom of the picture and sent it to a friend. Within 4 minutes she had cropped my text out and sent the picture back to me. At first I thought "well I don't want to write text across her face, body, etc.." but the more articles I read and then finding the site with her on it has really pushed me into deciding to do it. I am sorry if you think that it takes away from the picture, but I am protecting my child to the best I can. I do keep copies of the originals without text on them, don't worry. If you are a family member or friend and want a picture of her without the texts across it please let me know and I'll make sure you get it.
Please respect our wishes and understand that I am trying to protect my child. If you wish to use a photo of ours please contact me by email at princessofthepanhandle(at)gmail(dot)com and I will be more than happy to help you.

OH girl! This so sucks! I am sorry that the idiots of the world make it so hard to just be you! I don't have any children (yet?), so I can't imagine the frustration/outrage that people would steal a photo of your child! What ever happened to the Golden rule? and morals? and just regular old common sense? Geesh! Maybe I will let hubby pack me up and move me to the backwoods of Alaska... or not! :)
all those little outfits are adorable!
Have a great week! Drop by nichollvincent.blogspot.com and say hello!
I hate that and that's why I started watermarking too! So sorry that someone decided to do that. She is supper cute though!
what an adorable baby! love target clothes! they have the cutest stuff!
I love that fabric! I made P and I matching pajama pants out of it last winter! Need to get some more so I can make her some bigger ones!
She is such a cutie as are all those outfits. :) Sorry to hear that you've had privacy issues with photos. Honestly, I hadn't thought of that. Hm. Makes me re-think my photos. I'm here from the Phone Photo Fun link up.
Love her little outfits, and that face of hers with the new cowgirl fabric, she's precious!!
Can't wait to see what the new room turns out like!
What adorable outfits! Welcome to the addiction that is called Klout! I'll have to add you.
That is SOOO scary!! Wow I'm so sorry you're having to go through this.
That really does suck that people do things like that. Maybe you can try a lighter watermark so it doesnt take from the picture so much?
Teale is such a doll!
You got some good deals on clearance.
first of all, you are just Queen of Craftiness for that crib bumper! Love it.
second, what is the world coming to when we have to watermark pics of ourselves/kids on our blogs!? so scary.
